As a French beginner, you will be able to get started so that you are not afraid to exchange a few words with a French person, get a grip of French pronunciation so you can understand the French when they speak to you, and be understood by them. This level is designed to give you confidence as you set out on your French learning journey.

Intermediate Courses

Intermediate level French (B1 or B2 level in Common European Framework of Reference [CEFR]) means you can already communicate your ideas in French and understand conversations. You may still have a bit of difficulty in understanding and expressing complex topics and nuanced ideas. This course will allow you to consolidate your French knowledge and ask and understand questions more easily and confidently in a range of situations

KS 2 Courses

Students of KS2 French enjoy interactive and engaging lessons, suitable for complete beginners to the language or those with existing knowledge. Activities focus on fluency of spoken French, with lively conversations in each lesson. Students expand their French vocabulary, and develop their understanding of French verbs and grammar, enabling them to begin reading and writing short passages. Students are also introduced to aspects of French culture.

Our course is structured to support and enable students to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. This course provides the foundation for learning further languages or French at a higher level. It promotes an understanding and appreciation of foreign cultures.

IGCSE Courses

The qualification is designed primarily for students who are studying French in order to enhance their future education or employment prospects. Students will be expected to communicate formally and informally in a range of contexts, and to understand a wide range of texts and styles. The aim of the qualification is to test French language competence through realistic and contextualised tasks based on authentic texts. This is a 1 year or 2-year course dependent upon level of French.

AS/A Level Courses

The AS and A level qualifications are designed to be appealing and engaging to students, while preparing them for future study and work. An inspiring and culturally relevant course has been developed. The qualification has a clear structure, which will enable students to develop advanced-level, transferable language alongside a deeper cultural appreciation of French and Francophone culture. There is an emphasis on promoting understanding of grammar in order to allow spontaneous, creative use of language to suit different purposes. There is clear progression from AS to A level over 1 or 2 years, but these are separate qualifications.
